Goboo review: is this online store reliable?

The online electronics store Goboo has arrived in Europe and its prices are standing up to the giants AliExpress and Amazon (at least at the moment).

But, as with any new store, users have doubts: Is it reliable? Are their items originals or copies? Where are they shipped from?

In today's article, we'll be analyzing this newcomer in-depth, to see if it's as good as it looks.

What is Goboo?

Goboo was founded in 2020 in China and has recently been operating throughout Europe. It has several warehouses in different European countries, so it offers very fast shipping, even in just 24h (mostly for Spain and Portugal).

Almost all the products for sale on this website are of the Xiaomi brand or its sub-brands: Goboo is an official distributor of all of them and always sells the global version, so you should not fear that you may get one of those products in Chinese, thus making it impossible to use.

And yes, all Goboo products are 100% original. Being an authorized distributor of the Xiaomi brand guarantees its authenticity and the highest quality of all items.

However, let's see if their prices are really that good.

Prices at Goboo vs other online stores

Although it is probably a temporary strategy to make themselves known and attract customers, the truth is that, at the moment, the prices at Goboo are really low.

• The Redmi Note 10 Pro is sold on Goboo at only €229 when in other stores like AliExpress it costs €285 and in MediaMarkt €349.
• The Xiaomi 11 Lite on Goboo is priced at €299, compared to €329 on Amazon and AliExpress.
• The Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet, which is pretty hyped up currently, is priced at €378 on AliExpress and €409 on Amazon, but on Goboo it is only €329.
• The 1More ColorBuds 2 wireless headphones cost €62.99 on Goboo, while on Amazon they are €79.99 and on AliExpress €87.62.

Of course, there will be exceptions: not each and every Goboo product is cheaper than the competition, but it is certainly worth a look.

In addition, this store has very interesting special offers, to which you can add discount coupons that are automatically applied to your cart, and you can also opt for a welcome coupon on your first purchase.

Now, we'll judge the important aspects of the store at the time of making a purchase.

Shipping

The shipping time from their warehouses in Spain is only 24 hours, however, in Portugal and the rest of Europe it can take a standard time of 3 to 5 days. Either way, you will receive your order at home within a few days, free of charge.

Three types of delivery are available, both free of charge and indicated in the description of each product, depending on availability.

• Two or three-day delivery: You'll have your package with you within 2 to 3 working days.
• Standard delivery: This particular delivery takes 3 to 7 working days in getting to you.
• Economic Post-Pan European delivery: This takes from 7 to 15 working days to get to your home, and it applies to those countries where a warehouse isn't available, so the product has to be shipped either from Spain or Portugal.

Most items are marked with express delivery.

The only notable drawback with shipping is that some users complain that due to lack of stock, some of their purchases are delayed longer than agreed.

However, this is not a general problem with the store, but can occur with products that have just been launched and where there is a higher demand.

Although their return service is very good, it would be nice if the return costs were free in all cases.

Undoubtedly, the strong point of this online store is the price: it offers very competitive prices, great discounts, and the possibility of getting coupons to make your purchase even cheaper.

The reason?

Goboo is trying to gain a foothold in the European market, in a very competitive and not easy sector, so the best way to make itself known is by launching great offers and very interesting discounts: some of its mobiles are 35% cheaper than in other reputable online stores.

Who knows if, in a while, their prices will match those of AliExpress, Amazon or other similar online stores. But in the meantime, let's make the most of it.

Variety

Considering that this online store focuses mainly on the Xiaomi brand and its sub-brands, Goboo has a wide variety of electronic products: mobiles, smartwatches, tablets, robot vacuums, technological gadgets…

We miss the inclusion of more models of vacuum cleaners or other devices such as Smart TV or laptops. But it is a pretty recent store and, surely, it will gradually expand its catalog.

Oh, another thing we love: Goboo offers pre-sales of some of their latest models, which allows us to make a reservation and have it sent to us at the time of launch.

Warranties

30 day return period and 2-year warranty

Goboo includes the buyer protection required by law: a 2-year warranty on all products and an extended 30-day return period.

You can return any order regardless of the reason, even if it is not a store error (as long as it is in perfect condition and unopened).

Considering they have warehouses in different European countries, the return is very easy and even if you have to bear the costs (for example when you regret the purchase), these will not be very high, and it is less likely that the package is damaged or lost.

Payment methods

As in any reliable store, Goboo offers the possibility to pay with PayPal, but you can also pay with your usual credit or debit card if you prefer not to register with this online payment platform.

We recommend you to use PayPal to make your payments: you will have an extra guarantee on your purchase by having the support of this platform in case of any problem.

And not that there is any reason to be suspicious, but remember that if you buy through PayPal your payment details will not be shared with the store, which provides an extra degree of peace of mind.

Customer service

Undoubtedly Goboo's weakest point is its customer service policy: we can only contact the store via email (here) and, despite being a company operating directly in Europe, it does not have a customer service phone number for any of the countries listed.

Many of the complaints from buyers come as a result of the difficulty of having a direct and fluid conversation with customer service managers.

Although it is not usual to have to contact them, it is always appreciated that when a problem arises we can resolve it quickly and without encountering a lot of obstacles.
