What does “Parcel is still in transit…” mean on AliExpress?

Sometimes in the status of your order you get a notice: “Parcel is still in transit, no worries, we will delivery it to you as soon as possible”. Now we will explain what this means and what you can do. And remember that to see the updated status of your order you can enter this section of AliExpress.

Parcel is still in transit, no worries, we will delivery it to you as soon as possible

This message basically means don't worry, your shipment is proceeding normally and will be delivered as soon as possible.

Then, why didn't I get this message before and now I do?

All orders have an estimated date of arrival at home depending on the shipping method you have chosen. This date is an approximate and does not mean that it will arrive within that period. You can see it at the top of your shipment tracking. When this estimated delivery time passes, AliExpress automatically generates the message “parcel is still in transit…” at the bottom of the estimated delivery date.

Therefore, there is no major incident, but for some reason the process of arrival of your package is being slower than expected, although it is normal that in a short time it gets to you.

Track your order in detail

Whether your order arrives on the estimated delivery date depends on many factors, and unfortunately these are not up to you. In our experience, this is more likely to happen to ordinary shipments that do not have tracking numbers, as they are cheaper, take longer routes and are more likely to be delayed.

If you see that the status of your order has not been updated for some time, one way to see its tracking in more detail is to check it on international tracking websites like the ones we mentioned in the AliExpress order tracking post. Remember that ordinary shipments do not have tracking information in the destination country, so once it leaves China, you will not be able to follow exactly where it is going.

Check the protection period of your order

All orders have a 75-day protection period and that's all you need to worry about if you haven't received your package. If your estimated delivery date is over, but you still have a large protection period, there's no need to get upset if you still haven't received your package.

If you try to open a dispute too soon, AliExpress will not let you do so, claiming that their records show that the package is still in transit and to wait until the protection period is running out.

When to open a dispute

On the other hand, if there are only a few days left and you have not received your package, we recommend you to open a dispute and ask for a full refund.

Before opening the dispute, it is advisable that you ask the seller about your package (even if it is just a formality), as AliExpress takes into account that you talk to them before opening the dispute. Then, open a dispute and attach a screenshot of the tracking of your order as proof, to prove that you have not received it.

We recommend you to read the article how to open a dispute on AliExpress.

It is also possible that the seller extends the protection period when it is running out, to try not to lose the money from the sale.

You have to know that AliExpress shipments have improved a lot in recent times and it is normal that they do not take so long, but if it ever happens to you, you just have to be patient and know that you will have the support of AliExpress.
