Before you ask, no, there is no catch. With AliExpress' “Freebies” you can participate in daily raffles and get products almost for free.

What are Freebies?

AliExpress created Freebies to help sellers get reviews for their new products. They give us free items from their stores in exchange of us leaving a review.

This way we all win: sellers generate confidence in potential buyers by having reviews on their items and sales, and we get a free gift.

Is it reliable?

Freebies are totally reliable and we have tried them and proven this ourselves: if you don't lose your rhythm and participate daily, you can even win several times.

How can you get a Freebie?

Participating is very simple, but keep in mind that you can only do it twice a day and from the AliExpress app.

First go to the app's home page and on the top bar click on “Freebies” (if you don't see it, slide the bar to the right until you see it).

As you will see, there are many options to choose from and you have several categories of items (news of the day, electronics, sports, fashion and accessories…).

If you already know what you want, click on the item and click on “Apply for free”.

Before confirming your request, make sure that the delivery address you have added is the right one, otherwise you may have problems receiving your gift if you do get it.

And remember that you have the opportunity to apply for another Freebie, so don't miss it.

Once the Freebie application period has elapsed for all users (seven days), if you are the lucky one, you will receive a notification in about three days.

The store will automatically be added to your favorites

Please note that the store you apply for Freebies will automatically be added to your list of favorite stores and from then on, they will be able to send you messages with their promotions and coupons.

So if you are not really interested in the store, we recommend that you delete it afterwards, as it may fill your AliExpress mailbox with spam.

What do I do if I get a Freebie?

If you have received a notification in the app that you have won, you will have to go to your pending orders where you will see the item asking for a payment of $0,01.

All you have to do is confirm the payment and wait for it to arrive.

Remember: you have three days to make the payment of 1 cent.

Be careful because you only have those three days to make the payment. If you miss this time, you will have lost the opportunity and you will not be able to do anything.

How do I review the Freebie?

You already know that the condition to receive these gifts is that you provide a detailed review of it. So when you receive the Freebie, confirm that you already have it and try to add photos to your comment.

The more detailed and better made it is, AliExpress will value it very positively for your future requests for prizes.

Be careful because if you fail to do so, AliExpress may block you from applying for more Freebies.

Can I increase my chances of winning a Freebie?

Of course you can! Although in theory Freebies are kind of a raffle, the truth is that the more active you are in the app leaving ratings on your orders, AliExpress will take that into account and your chances of winning will increase considerably.

The seller doesn't want to change the size or color of my Freebie

Normally, you won't have any issues with the seller sending you the size or color you want, but they're not really obliged to do so, so if they don't want to change it, you will have to settle for what they send you.

The best thing to do before ordering a Freebie is to check in the product details if you have the possibility to choose a different size or color than the one in the picture.

Can I cancel a Freebie?

You may have won something that you can't change the size of, or that you're no longer interested in.

We advise you not to cancel it, as this will prevent you from winning future prizes.

If you don't like something or it doesn't suit you, you can always give it to someone else or sell it.

Will I have to pay VAT on a Freebie when I receive it?

Don't worry, you won't have to pay anything in customs when you receive your Freebie.

However, if you want to have a little bit more of peace of mind, contact the seller and ask them to indicate on the package that it is a prize and that you have not paid for it.

Also, in case you are asked for money when you receive it, you can always refuse the shipment and have it returned to the seller.

If when you go to pay you see that your Freebie has shipping costs, talk to the seller to modify the information.

If they refuses to do so, do not cancel the order, as this will only penalize you.

Contact customer support via chat to explain what is going on and they will penalize the seller for non-compliance with the rules.

The seller has cancelled my order

Unfortunately, some sellers use Freebies to promote themselves, but when it comes down to it, they don't want to spend money sending them.

Never cancel a Freebie because the seller asks you to do so, claiming to be out of stock.

If they finally cancel it, at least they will be penalized by AliExpress.

What's the difference between Freebies and coins?

Freebies are raffles of specific products: if you win you will get said product for 1 cent.

AliExpress coins, on the other hand, are points that you earn by completing missions and making purchases. You can then redeem coins for AliExpress coupons.
