You already know that when it comes to AliExpress checking a shop’s reputation and sales is super important. We’ve mentioned this many times: the more ratings and sales, the better. However, we also seem to receive a lot of questions about shops with no reputation: should we really avoid them at all costs?
In today’s article we are going to answer this question as best we can. In fact, we’ve made purchases from sellers with no reputation many times, we simply crossed our fingers and hoped for the best…and guess what? We never had any problems. Truth is, in the worst case scenario, you get your money back. So let’s start by answering your question briefly: no, it’s not a completely bad idea to use these shops.
So, why isn’t it bad to shop from these stores with no reputation?
There is a few reasons for this. And we are going to take time to answer in detail, seeing as this is a super common question, not only among our readers, but also among AliExpress users. It makes sense, reputation is one of the main factors to take into account when using AliExpress, but it is most definitely not the only one. So, here is our first piece of advice: if you have an option, choose the one that has medals, diamonds or crowns before you go for one with no reputation or ratings. This is the easiest way to get a better idea of what kind of quality, delivery time and trustworthiness to expect. On the other hand, if the shop doesn’t have any ratings, you have nothing to go from.
We always say the best option is a shop with at least a diamond, but you can also find good shops that aren’t rated. Why is this? Well, one of the reasons for this is that they might be fairly new to the platform, so they still haven’t had time to receive ratings or sell products. This doesn’t mean the shop is bad, it’s simply new and everybody deserves a chance, don’t they. AliExpress knows this, otherwise why let these shops use the massive platform in the first place.
Sellers with no reputation are especially common in the brand replica sector. The reason for this is that AliExpress does not allow replica sellers, so many shops open what we like to call “Express shops” and sell their stock as quick as they can, before AliExpress catches them and closes them down.
What are these Express shops found on AliExpress?
We use this term to define shops that sell their stock quickly before AliExpress closes them down. This kind of shop is super common when it comes to fake brands or replicas, something that AliExpress prohibits explicitly. Normally, these shops only offer specific products and use logos and images of the original brand in the description and details of the products. They also use the original name instead of acronyms to help customers find them faster.
They are especially common in the fashion sector, offering all kinds of clothes brands for women and for men. They are also common in the shoe and accessory sectors. Express shops offer shoe replicas, sunglasses, jewels… and sell them as fast as they can before AliExpress catches them. In any case, when it comes to these shops, we can assure you most of them are trustworthy, but it’s never a bad idea to double check (it will only take 30 seconds) the sales history. As a general rule, the shop won’t have any completed sales because they will have sold out their stock before receiving any reviews or confirmations, so you will have no way of knowing really. Remember that the purchase is only confirmed once you received the product, and this may take a while.
What happens if I make a purchase from an Express shop and it then closes?
Given how fast they work, most of these shops don’t have any ratings. This may seem like a problem at first, but it may actually become an advantage when receiving your product: they need to work extremely fast, so they will send you your order as soon as possible. And remember that if you do have any problem you can always contact the shop, they won’t take long to answer and they are usually very helpful.
At this point I’m sure you are thinking: what happens when an AliExpress shop closes and I still have a pending order? Well, one of three things can happen:
- The product hasn’t been sent so you will get your money back.
- If it has been send, nothing changes. Just wait for it to come.
- If you have any problem with the product, contact AliExpress directly to reach and agreement and get a refund.
As you can see, in no case are you going to be loosing money. AliExpress will reimburse you and if you are lucky, you’ll receive the product and be able to judge it yourself.
